Azalea bushes will always hold a special place in my heart. When I was a child the front door of our house was surrounded by azalea bushes. When they bloomed in the spring they were so beautiful and a wonderful way to be welcomed home at the end of the day. The flowers in the painting were branches I had trimmed from bushes in my garden. Every time I see them in bloom they take me back to my first home.
