About the Painting

The town of Oxford, Maryland is on the Choptank River which feeds into the Chesapeake Bay. It’s a quaint little town that’s hidden at the end of a road. It was a lovely spring day when I was there painting. The birds were singing me beautiful background music the entire time. Then about noon a clock tower nearby began to play a lovely tune that added to the bird’s voices and lasted for a few minutes. It was a beautiful place to spend the day looking out over the water, painting and watching an occasional sailboat drift by.
